Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM)
The Erstwhile SGSY scheme has been restructured as NRLM
Objective is to ensure sustainable community development in rural areas through the community itself by way of building strong community institutions at 3 levels, viz., Self Help groups, Habitation Level Federations and Panchayat Level Federations.
To reduce poverty by enabling the poor households to access gainful self- employment and skilled wage employment opportunities resulting in appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis, through building strong and sustainable grassroots institutions of the poor.
- Social mobilization, institution building and empowerment process (capacity Building)..
- Facilitating knowledge dissemination, skill building, access to credit, access to marketing, and access to other livelihoods services enables them to enjoy a portfolio of sustainable livelihoods.
- Inclusion of the poorest, and meaningful role to the poorest in all the processes.
- Transparency and accountability of all processes and institutions.
- Ownership and key role of the poor and their institutions in all stages-planning,implementation and monitoring
- Community self-reliance and self-dependence.
Pattern of Assistance :
Revolving Fund Rs.15,000/- per SHG is given
Upto maximum of Rs.16.00 lakhs of Community Investment Fund (CIF) in installments to Pancahayat Level Federations.
